Lodge's 25th Silver Anniversary and Fund Raiser Dinner

             Joseph L. Shell Daylight Lodge will be having a Fund Raiser Dinner celebrating its 25th Silver Anniversary on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Heartland Lodge #576 located at 695 Ballantyne Street, El Cajon, CA 92020.  There will be great entertainments to be perform by KEVIN, The Great Imitator (Red Skelton Skits) for everyone to watch and enjoy, and  music "Especially for You" by Barber Shop Quartets.  Dinner starts at 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm.  Menu is still in the works, but the main menu entree will be Tri-tip Roast and Cornish Hens with all the trimmings.  Cost: $35.00 per person.  Reservation is required.  Please contact the Secretary's Office at (619) 260-0855 for information and tickets.  All Masonic families are cordially invited.  We need your support.  Please come and join us celebrate this memorable occasion and have some fun.

AID AND ATTENDANCE

There are Veterans out there unaware or never have heard of the aid and attendance program that they maybe eligible depending on their health condition and must be informed.  We need your help to get the word out.  Please become a part of this valuable program and let them know what this is all about.

 This is a Medical reimbursement pension for Veterans, their spouse and surviving spouses. 

Requirements to be eligible:

1.  90 days service in the United States Military services/ one day during a wartime period.

bullet

World War II - December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946.

bullet

Korean War - June 25, 1950 to January 31, 1955.

bullet

Vietnam Conflict - August 5, 1964 to May 7, 1975.

bullet

Persian Gulf - August 2, 1990 through date to be determined by Presidential proclamation or law.

2.  You must have a medical condition that requires a need for assistance from someone else on a regular basis.

This pension pays up to $1,632.00 monthly for Veteran; $1,055.00 monthly for a surviving spouse; $1,949.00 monthly for veteran and spouse.  These funds may be used to pay the following:

Nursing home long term care.

bullet

Assisted living or for adult care services such as board and care.

bullet

In some cases, it pays family members, except for the spouse, to provide care at home.

bullet

Professional home care providers to come into the home.  Qualification is more difficult.

bullet

Up to $1,200.00 to renovate the home to help with Disability, such as ramps and grab bars.
