I'm told the 'weekenders' ladies program was a success. I know the mother/daughter team of Lisa Mingus and Trudy Link enjoyed hosting the event and presenting their line of clothing and accessories to the Ladies. During dinner, our Jr. Warden, Bro. Luis Orozco, announced the dinners for the next few months. Upon hearing these scrumptious meals, Lisa inquired if they could return again! Ladies, please keep up with the great suggestions for Ladies programs. It helps us [men] understand better what you would like to do while we are at labor upstairs.
* Speaking of which, our Labor will be minimal at our May Stated meeting (May 5th) so we can join the ladies downstairs for a Wine Tasting event. We will open Lodge at 6:00 pm and break for refreshment (Cinco de Mayo dinner), return upstairs for a brief transaction of business (while the wine is breathing), close Lodge, and return downstairs to taste an assortment of wine. Please bring a bottle of your favorite (affordable) wine to share with us. Also, since our supply of wineglasses is minimal, please bring your own glasses. We are always looking for great taste at great prices so use your experience and skill to surprise us!
We are tentatively planning a 2nd degree on Monday, April 28th for our candidate. Please come and support your new Brother.
On Wednesday, April 30th, we are having a Public Schools Recognition night combined with Palo Alto Roller and Mountain View - De Anza Lodges. Dinner will start at 6:30 pm with the program upstairs at 7:30 PM.
Our 25 year Mason pin committee is scheduling a presentation with dinner for Saturday, May 10th at the Lodge. A spaghetti dinner will be served at 5:00 pm with the program following upstairs in the Lodge room at 7:30 pm. We will have 98 members who have reached 25 years of Masonry. Please contact the Lodge information line at (650) 569-6276 if you plan to attend the presentation/dinner. If you have any questions, please contact Rick (650-903-0525), Ernie (408-564-7045) or Lou (408-732-5518). Our 25 year honorees will be treated to dinner! After May 10th, you will be presented with your pin and certificate at the first Stated Meeting that you attend provided you give us advanced notice of your attendance.
I have several committees that are in need of volunteers. We may have to cancel some of the upcoming special Lodge events unless volunteers contact me soon: 650-903-0525.
Fraternally,
Richard Weyers,
Master

We are entering May, the month of Flowers and Mothers Day. It is a good month to review our priorities both personal and Masonic. As Senior Warden, I am putting together next year's line of officers. As yet I have not found a Tiler. Is there a brother that would like to take on this duty for next year? Our current Tiler has expressed a desire to move up in the line so he will be filling another post. Any of you brothers interested -- please contact me.
We need help in putting on our degrees. We expect to have a few candidates this year and we could use a few volunteers to help in the third degree. I am requesting that a few brothers step forward to help out in this degree. All you have to do is attend the practices as designated on the cover page of this Trestleboard. So far we are having a good turnout at the practices. However, we are going to need more help in the third degree.
I thank the Lord for my Masonic involvement. It has given me many friends and a continual involvement in trying to do good. The one thread I find among my Masonic friends, both here and in my mother Lodge in NY, is their family ties. All the active Masons I know have strong family relations and/or obligations. This is one of the moral fibers that is woven into Masonry and hence Masonry attracts men with similar traits. In short this may be considered the glue of Masonry.
Today's mobile society is causing many families to scatter and stretch their family ties. Many of these ties become severed or just wither away. As a Masons I am thankful for my Masonic family and the opportunity to serve in our Lodge. We should all try to find someone searching for our glue and bring him into Masonry.
Fraternally,
Ernest Castillo, P. M.,
Senior Warden
Brethren and Widows, we have generated an up-to-date address book for your use. It should be in the mail either in June or July. If you do not wish to have your address included in it, please contact Ernie Castillo, at 408-564-7045 or send a note to the Lodge office. THANK YOU.
At 1 PM on March 15, members of Los Altos Lodge No. 712 held a graveside ceremony for brother Bill Harvey. It was a beautiful sunny day with scattered clouds. His family, friends and neighbors were present as well as about 15 lodge brothers. Many of the ladies from the Order of the Eastern Star were also in attendance. Bro. John Runcie performed the Masonic Ceremony which was followed by a Eulogy and Ceremony by his Minister, Reverend Bryan Person. After the ceremonies all were invited for refreshments at the Hilton Garden Inn.

"Suspension of Recognition of Grand Lodge Valle de Mexico"
The Grand Master has suspended recognition of the Grand Lodge Valle de Mexico effective February 9th, 2003, for invasion of territory of the Grand Lodge of Texas and the Grand Lodge of Baja California. Similarly, no member of a California Lodge may visit a tiled lodge under the Grand Lodge Valle de Mexico. Any member of a California lodge who holds dual membership with a lodge under the Grand Lodge Valle de Mexico must immediately terminate his membership in that lodge, or be subject to charges of unmasonic conduct for membership in a lodge considered clandestine by this Grand Lodge.
