Veterans Day and Hiram Award Ceremony November 10, 2009

This night, we honor our Hiram Awardee WB Fred Ervast for his total dedication to our Craft. Congratulations, WB Fred Ervast. WB Fred Ervast, born on Feb 26, 1938 in Oakland, California, attended UC Berkeley majoring in Electrical Engineering. Graduated in Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a BSEE Degree in 1963 and took graduate studies in Engineering at San Jose State University. He was Initiated and Pass in 1971 and Raised in 1972 in Anacapa Lodge #710. WB Ervast is a member of 12 Concordant and Appendant Bodies of Freemasonry throughout California. He is a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Ventura. He served in numerous committees of the different bodies and currently the Chairperson of the Port Hueneme Masonic Cemetery Clean Up and Rehab Committee. Last year he was the Chairperson for the Constitution Observance Night of Anacapa Lodge. WB Fred Ervast is married to the former Leona Huber, a professional artist. Both live in Camarillo.

The night started with the usual family dinner followed by WB Bert Guiang's introduction of the event's guest speaker, the Honorable Judge Bernie LaForteza of the Superior Court -Sta. Clarita, California. Our speaker gave our brethren and attendees of the event a very educational and informative presentation of our Constitution and the duties we have as citizens of this land. It was a great occasion well attended and well spent night among our brothers and guests.

Memorial Day Celebration

25 May 2009 - Again, The Brethren from Anacapa Lodge 710 and Oxnard Lodge No. 341 F & AM of California Lodge dwell together to honor and respect our Veterans who gave their lives for the sake of freedom of our country and most part of the world at the Ivy Lawn Cemetery, Ventura, California.

		9 May 2009 - The brethren of the lodge honored sister Josie Briones for her unquestionable dedication and support to Anacapa Lodge and Job's Daughters for more than ten(10) years. With her in the picture is the Lodge Secretary.

Family, friends and brothers enjoy the evening of dancing and fellowship. Good and lively music was provided by Mr. Eli Gonzales, at no cost. Thanks to everyone who shared the wonderful night with us.. We'll see you again in July for our next dance party.

Anacapa thanks you and we apologize for the delay in recognition. As I told Bro Arnie, sometimes we get caught up in the rat race and busy times and we tend to forget to stop to smell the roses and appreciate the trees from the forest. In this case, the beauty of a tree lies in the goodness of her heart and her genuine desire to help us Masons in our quest for a better world.

Public School Observance Program

In 1920, California's Grand Master, Most Worshipful Albert Adams, established the month of April as Public Schools Recognition month. Since then, California Masons and their respective Lodges have provided variety of ways to show their unwavering support of public education. Anacapa Lodge has enthusiastically observed this show of support by honoring Classified and Certificated employees of Oxnard and Hueneme School Districts. See pictures below:

21 April 2009 - Masons in recognizing the tireless dedication and patience of our Community Educators. It was opened by a prayer before the dinner led by our WB Coach Bobby Worford followed by the ceremony in the Lodge room. Some of the pictures above were taken during the event.
