LODGE TRESTLE BOARD

September 2008

Message from the East

Greetings Brethren,

I hope this article finds you in good health and spirits. September is going to be an exciting month. We are going to kick it off with an exciting stated meeting hosting a special guest of honor, Past Grand Master, Most Worshipful Tony Wardlow, who will welcome our Lodge as a new Century Member of the George Washington Masonic Memorial.

Septembers Masonic University will be held on Monday, September 22nd at 6PM. This program is taking awesome shape thanks to the participation and enthusiasm from everybody involved - from the youngest Entered Apprentice who comes to learn and absorb information about our Craft to Past Masters who architect the Temple. I advocate that if you have not yet participated in a Masonic University session that you stop by and participate to learn about it.

GRAND LODGE COMMUNICATION
We have a group of at least 8-10 members going to San Francisco this year to represent our Lodge. Please contact me if you are planning to attend so that we can further organize the Saddleback Laguna group. Grand Lodge Communication is an impressive event that is a MUST to witness at least once in your life time.

I received communication from the Grand Guardian Council of California for the Job's Daughters Iternational that they are interested in reopening Bethel No. 63 in our Lodge. A key component of their success is new members. If your daughter or a relative of yours would like to participate, please contact me so that I can connect you with the right person.

By the square,

Erich Kreidler
Master

Message from the West

Greetings Brethren and Welcome to the Beautiful month of September.

I hope that this finds everybody in good health and high spirits. Also I wished that everybody was able to have a nice and relaxing summer and are geared up for the back to school time. I know that its probably going to be a little hard to get the kids back into the swing of school, I know I never liked it when this time of year came around because I always thought that summer was never long enough.

At this time I would like to inform you of some good and bad news. As you remember in my last article I talked about being a little stressed on a test that I had only three weeks to prepare for. Well the bad news is that I did not pass the whole test at this time. The good news is that I did pass the hardest part of the test the first time and didnt miss passing by that much. So now I have a leg up for the next test that I will be taking in February.

Well enough of me lets get down to some business. I hope that all who are able to attend will join us up at the Grand Lodge Annual Communication at the end of this month. I will be attending this year and have heard that it is always a good time. Also a good reason to go is that the incoming Grand Master is from our neck of the woods and that is Right Worshipful Larry Adamson. Right Worshipful Larry is an amazing guy. The last time that I talked and saw him he was the President/CEO of the Midnight Mission in Los Angeles and he had just given us a light hearted but very informative speech on some not so well known Masonic Organizations.

Lastly, I would like to inform you on our degree work for the year. This calendar year so far we have preformed fourteen 1st degrees, seven 2nd degrees, and eleven 3rd degrees. The Masonic year so far, even though it has been a little more than a month, we have preformed four 1st degrees and three 3rd degrees. We have fifteen candidates actively going thru the degrees with eight men in the hopper waiting to be voted on. So once again it doesn't look like our degree work is going to lighten up.

Oh, by the way September 6th is the birthday of Brother Marquis de Lafayette.

On the Level,

Jerad Schulte
Senior Warden
