Brethren,
Let us welcome our newly obligated
Entered Apprentices – Brother Jeffrey Neal Kuebler and Brother Matthew
Joseph Davis. Be sure to show your support of all our candidates by
attending Degrees. There is nothing more powerful than to be surrounded by
a room full of Brothers when you are brought from darkness to light.

Our May Stated Meeting will feature a 50
Year Pin presentation for Brother Ross Spalding as a courtesy for the Grand
Lodge of Illinois. Let us extend the hand of Brotherly Love and affection
to our Brother on this auspicious occasion. We will be balloting upon the
application of Mr. Magdi Gamil Messiha and we will be electing our new
Treasurer.
The following
Brothers were elected to serve our Lodge as Trustees at our April Stated
Meeting with their terms expiring as follows: John Lowe, P.M. – November
2012; Michael Neben, P.M. – November 2011; Wil Smith – November 2010; Justin
Pearce – November 2009; and John Morton – November 2008. We extend our
heartfelt thanks for assuming this responsibility and devoting your talents
to the service of our Lodge.
On Saturday, May 31st we will
be holding our picnic at the
Covina Masonic Homes. Please be sure to sign up by email to
master@irvinevalley.org or on the sign up sheet available every
Tuesday. More details will be forthcoming on this event by email as we get
closer to the event. If you have never been to the Masonic Homes before you
don’t want to miss out on this great opportunity. If you have been there
before you will not want to miss this great opportunity to see how much has
changed since your last visit. Either way you don’t want to miss out on
visiting with our Brothers and Widows who are residents at the Masonic
Homes. And remember the Masonic Homes are supported in large part by your
generous contributions.
UPDATE: May 31st will now be a Family Bowl-a-thon
at the Forest Lanes in Lake Forest. More details will be forthcoming.
We will be visiting and taking part in a 3rd degree at the Covina Masonic
Home on August 2nd - time to be determined.
ALSO: Upcoming event - Saturday,
June 14th will be a Lodge Beautification Day
Finally, I want to take this opportunity
to inform you that Brother Mark Neiman has announced that he will be
retiring as our Lodge Chaplain at the conclusion of this Masonic year. He
has served our Lodge as Chaplain since time immemorial and has done so with
dignity and honor. Please don’t be shy in showing him your appreciation.
It his highly likely that he served as Chaplain at all of your Degrees or
any number of special occasions. Thank you Brother Neiman for your service
to the Lodge and the Craft.
Fraternally,
