FROM THE EAST:
Brethren and Ladies, I hope everyone has had a
delightful month and this allergy season has not been to impairing for anyone.
We have several things to look forward this month as we will be conducting an
open format Masonic information night on Monday the 26th of May.
This will a very interesting night for all Masons (1st °
through 3rd°) and all Masons are encouraged to partake, we will be
having snacks and refreshments for all attendees. Please e-mail me if you
wish to attend or participate in presenting any personal finding or anecdote you
would like to share. We have several candidates in the midst of taking
their next step in our ancient craft and we are ready for them when the time
comes. Once more I will take this opportunity to thank all those Brothers
who work so diligently to make our Masonic world go round, you know who you are.
On the Square, FROM THE WEST: Brethren and Ladies, On the Level, FROM THE SOUTH: Brethren and Ladies,
Masonry teaches us to apply the moral and
ethical teachings of our own personal political, ethnic, cultural and religious
beliefs and backgrounds in our daily lives. It is unique and separate from
religion, politics and culture or ethnicity in that Masonry does not tell us
what those teachings are, or should be. Masonry tells us that - whatever the
teachings are - we should practice them, and reminds us that we already know
full well HOW to do so. Our rules and procedures are so constructed as to insure
that our members are of good morals, worthy of trust, respect and friendship.
These qualities are already inculcated into our personalities before we gain
admission. Masonry does not teach us how to be good, we have learned that long
before we knocked on the door. Masonry places us in situations and environments
where we find new opportunities to exercise that goodness that already resides
within each of us. The friendships and associations we form in Masonry cause us
to compete in discovering just how good we can become. The fraternity encourages
us to constantly reevaluate our ethics and morals, and form that rough ashler
into that perfect ashler that is at the core of the spirit our Creator placed
within us.
Our Lodge is a place where we as men of our fraternity meet
to improve ourselves and help make the world a better place. We lead by
example and give back to our communities. We support numerous Masonic
philanthropies and invest in our children, our neighborhood, our society and our
future. We are men from all walks of life. Our
fraternity transcends religious, ethnic, cultural, social and educational
differences. We respect each others’ opinions and strive to grow and
develop as human beings and useful members of our society. We practice a lifestyle
based on honor, integrity, compassion, trust, ethics and knowledge. We
believe that by practicing our Masonic values and involving our families we can
make our society a better place and honor our fraternity.
