At our April 7th, Stated Meeting it was indeed an honor to present to Worshipfuls Jesse G. Henderson, Jose Procell, Charles W. Pruett, and David Bochard their long overdue 25 year pins. To those members who did not attend; Michael O. Lutchenkov, Robert J. Bass, Thomas H. Elieff, and Mark A. Krauss, their pins will be mailed. It is well known that these Past Masters and Members will indeed wear their pins with a great deal of pride, pleasure and honor not only to the Fraternity but as well for themselves.
May 5th will be Inspector Jan Eddy's official visit to Magnolia Park Lodge. Please make every effort to attend that night for this very special occasion. The Officers need to wear their tuxedos.
Our Lodge has received an invitation entitled "Take me Out to the Ballgame" from the Grand Master, Richard Wakefield Hopper; Worthy Grand Matron, Collette Serio-Gol; and Worthy Grand Patron Jim Whiteley, inviting us to join them at the Masonic Home for Covina's Annual Festival. In addition, joining the Masonic Lodges will be the Order of Eastern Star Chapters, Masonic affiliates and their families who together will have a fun filled day of food, fellowship and festivities. Details elsewhere are in the newsletter.
If any of you are planning on going to "Take me out to the Ballgame" event and can provide transportation for those in need please let the lodge know, either the Master or Secretary as some of our widows/widowers would love to attend this function. The date is Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 12 noon to 4:00 P.M.
Fraternally,
Don Johnstone, P.M.
Worshipful Master
After the ceremony we were then dismissed and thanks to Kelly Barnes, our ladies session night was a fun filled evening devoted to making our own greeting cards. Did you ever realize we had such talent? It was difficult indeed for Dave Bochard to choose a winner that evening, Cindy Wolcott, and we thank him for doing so.
The plan for the women's portion of the May meeting is "Candy Making". This will give all of us in attendance innovative ideas on how to make ourown candy. Seems like all we read about these days is the value of dark chocolate as a very healthy food!! So it should be another fun filled enjoyable evening.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Shirley Johnstone, Master's Wife
I want to thank everyone who has paid their dues. We only have around 25members that need to pay. Unfortunately, 5 of those are two years past due and risk being suspended at our June Stated Meeting.
Please get your dues in as soon as possible. If you are having financial or health problems and can't afford to pay your dues please let us know we can work with you.
Fraternally, Wayne Torgerson, P.M., Secretary
