January Trestleboard - 2005
From the East:
Hello Brothers and Sisters,
Well, this is my last
message from the East after 3 years. It’s been a pleasure being Master for the
past 3 years. It includes many memories that I will never forget and I’m sure I
have become a better person for the experiences I have encountered. I want to
thank everyone for their support and confidence.
At our December stated
meeting we enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Brother Ron Cowin, PM. During
our meeting we elected Mr. Stephen Lowe to receive the degrees in our Lodge.
Look forward to a first degree soon. Congratulation Stephen.
At our January stated
meeting the Escalon Rainbow Girls will
be bringing box dinners to be auctioned off to the Masons who will then sit
down with the girls and get to know each other over dinner. If any Brothers
would like to participate please contact meright away.
On January 22nd at 2:00 PM the Lodge will hold it Installation of Officers with
Jerold Farver, PM taking the East. Please plan on attending
On January 23rd there
will be a reception for Heather Caudle, Grand Fidelity , in California,
International Order of the
Rainbow for Girls. The
event will be at El Portal Middle School
at 2:00 PM
Don’t forget to come
to the Build-Your-Own Omelet Breakfast on Jan 8th from 7 AM to 11 AM. This is a
benefit event to help Heather with her Grand Travels as she represents Escalon
Rainbow all over this great state. See notice on page
Well, I guess this is
my last goodbye, for awhile. It’s been a pleasure.
Richard Caudle,
PM Worshipful Master
From the East-Elect
Greeting:
I am Jerold Farver PM and I will be the
Master for 2005. I will be contacting prospective officersthis month to see if they will fill our our
officers line for the ensuing Masonic year. Many thanks to Richard for his long
stint as Master. My installation will be January 22, 2005 at 2:00 PM. See you
there.Jerold Farver, PM Master-Elect
The Secretary’s Desk
I would like to thank the Brethren for
electing me to the position of Secretary. After a short hiatus and the fact
that our Brother Jaime wanted to start in the line, I agreed to take the
position and let him advance through Escalon’s line to occupy the East. As many
of you are observing with this new edition I am attempting to overhaul our
Trestleboard. The contents box on the first page will list the different
sections of information. I would appreciate any help or articles you may want
to share with our members. Subject to editorial license and space availability.
With this new format I am requesting that any submissions to the Trestleboard be sent to me by the Friday after Escalon
Lodge’s stated meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of he month. This will give me the
weekend to put the information together, get it printed, addressed and mailed
by the 4th Wednesday.
This would also be a
good time to remind the Brethren of 2005 Dues are due. Notices were sent out
the last part of November. If you didn’t get one, don’t worry about it. Just
stick a check ($48.00) in an envelope, address it to the Lodge (PO Box 387,
Escalon CA. 95320) and we can take care of the rest. Make sure to add any
address changes or other information we would need to know.
Masonic Education:
Henry Wilson Coil Library and Museum
The Grand Lodge of California
opened the Henry Wilson Coil Library and Museum in 1997 at the California
Masonic Memorial Temple on California Street in San Francisco.
The museum contains over 8,000 titles and
includes Masonic art and artifacts from California and around the world.
The Henry Wilson Coil Library and Museum
seeks to tell the story of Freemasonry in California to Masons and to the
general public. To serve as a research source for both lay and professional
Masonic scholars and researchers.. It is there to assist Masons who seek to
increase and develop their personal knowledge of Freemasonry.
The Library is open Monday through Friday
from 10 am to 3 PM.
Escalon Rainbow Girls:
I hope that everyone had a nice holiday season, and that 2005 will
be super to them. I would like to thank the Masons and Eastern Star for giving
names of their members who were unable to leave their home during the holidays,
we enjoyed bringing some Christmas Cheer into their lives.
2004 was a great and busy year for Escalon Rainbow, as we
initiated nine new girls. I do hope that in 2005 we will be able to grow even
more.
My term as Worthy Advisor is almost over, but we still have a lot
of fun left. January 2 we will be bundling up and heading for the snow. The
night that the Masons will be having their meeting, we will be having a Box
dinner Auction before their meeting, with all proceeds going towards the Grand
Service Project. the girl that made the dinner will be eating with the Mason
that bought the dinner, that way all of us will get to know each other. so,
please do come out and help a worthy cause.
Sadly, I only have two meetings left. On the 13th, we will be
having Elections of new officers, and the 27th will be my farewell meeting. I
would like to invite you to these meetings to see what Rainbow is doing. We
will still be traveling around California with Heather, our Grandie.
Sunday, the 23rd, we will be giving Heather her reception. It will
be at 2:00 PM at El Portal Middle School in Escalon. Everyone is invited, and I
do hope that we will be seeing you there.
The next Sunday, we will be having another Installation of
Officers.With all my Rainbow Love,
Laconia Butler, Worthy Advisor
