ESCALON MASONIC FAMILY RAISES MONEY FOR
ESCALON COMMUNITY AMBULANCE
On August 6th the Escalon Masonic Family sponsored a benefit dinner to raise funds to help equip the new Ambulance which arrived recently. Over 140 people enjoyed a spaghetti dinner prepared by Kent Armstrong assisted by Jim Allen and Robert Shannon. Members of the Ambulance staff and Explorers along with Escalon Assembly International Order of Rainbow for Girls and Tri-Angle Chapter International Order of Demolay for Boys assisted in the serving and clean up for the dinner. Gracious donations from Escalon Premier Brands and members of the Fraternity helped to reduce costs and provide maximum donation to the Community Ambulance. Mike Pitassi, Chief of Ambulance Services had the new Ambulance on display in front of the Masonic Center on Viking St. After the dinner the guests were asked to gather around the new Ambulance to dedicate it to service in the Escalon Community. Richard Youngs, President of the Ambulance Board gave a short speech along with City Council Member Matt Herrero. A congratulatory letter from the Grand Master of Masons in California was read and then presented to Mike Pitassi during the dedication ceremony. The picture shows Mike Pitassi on the left receiving the $2,173.00 check from Jerold Farver, Master of Escalon Lodge for the donations received at the dinner.
