Greetings from the East

Brethren,

May is a month where congratulations are due.   First, I would like to congratulate Worshipful Shelley Berman on his election as Secretary.   I would also like to congratulate Brother Terry Roberts on his being raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason and also his appointment as Junior Steward.   Congratulations are in order for Brother Angel Salazar for being chosen as Mason of the Year.   Brother Salazar's demeanor sets an example for all Masons, and I am proud to call him my brother.   Lastly, I would like to offer my congratulations to Worshipful Ron Kidwell, who was chosen as this years Hiram Award recipient.   True to form, when informed of this prestigious award, Ron stated, "I don't deserve that!"  Yes he does. Worshipful Kidwell has been an integral part of the lodge since he affiliated.   He's the first one to offer an infirm brother a ride, fill a chair, or anytime I say "hey Ron", his reply is always "what committee am I heading up now".  As a candidates coach, he is without equal, as the candidates entire family gets to know him.  I'm proud to say he showed Worshipful Jellison and me the proper manner in which Grand Lodge is attended.

All of these brothers are men I am proud to be associated with, so when you see them in Lodge, go up and give them an 'attaboy'!

We had an impressive turnout for the Cornerstone Ceremony held at the new Cajon Valley School District Admin Building .   Dr. Janice Cook, the superintendent couldn't give us enough praise!   Thanks to everyone who put in time and effort to make this a truly top­notch event. Less than a week later we had our public schools night.   The lodge room was filled with energy as local students were recognized for their efforts... with cold, hard, cash!   This was another well attended top-notch event, which makes me proud to be a Mason!  Kudos to Brother Durward ( Sandy ) Graham, and Worshipful Shelley Berman for putting together this memorable evening.

Don't forget the luau, which is on May 18^th!!!  A good time is sure to be had by all!!

Last but not least, come to one of the degrees this month, your next stated meeting dinner will be free for you and your lady!!!
