What is Freemasonry?

 


Freemasonry is a system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols. It is a plan for the living of a life with a belief in the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man. And as music is a secret to the deaf, mathematics a secret to the ignorant, and philosophy a secret from the unscholarly, so Freemasonry is a secret only from the uninitiated.
