1994 -RICHARD J. KRAMER
Open installation ceremonies were held on January 17, 1994 where Brother Richard I. Kramer was installed Worshipful Master by Past Master Jerry L. Crosby, Sr. as Installing Officer, Past Master Arthur A. Pasquinelli as Master of Ceremonies, Right Worshipful Robert N. Mishkin (Past Grand Chaplain, New" Jersey, uncle of Brother Kramer) as Installing Chaplain, and Brother Bernard - Kramer (father of Brother Kramer) as Installing Host.
Entered Apprentices initiated were: 6; Brothers passed to the Fellow craft degree were: 3; Brothers raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason: 4. Dues: $50 per year.
A large thrust this year was made to improve the attendance at many of the Lodge activities. Public Schools Night was held on April 18th where, after dinner, three U.S. Savings Bonds were presented to three winners at an essay contest held in the fifth grade at Edenvale Elementary School on the topic "Why I Want to Go to College". Awards were presented to many San Jose Unified teachers for out- standing teaching. Entertainment was by the Castillero Middle School Jazz Band. Also part of Public Schools Support, Brother Art Webb headed a pancake break- fast on April 23rd at Edenvale School where, in combination with money raised at a Magic Show (given by Brother Hank Vlcek) at an awards assembly on April 26th, $1500 were raised for scholarships that were presented by Worshipful Richard Kramer to deserving graduating Seniors who went through the Edenvale Adopt-a-College Program.
The Annual Chicken Feed in Morgan Hill was hosted on March 17th for the Grand Master, Warren I. Blomseth, and his corps of Grand Lodge Officers, and the Officers of the Santa Clara Masonic Officers Association. About 40 Officers and Past Masters of Golden Rule Lodge attended.
Two area-wide events were sponsored during the year by the Masters of Teal (the Masters of 1994) in order to improve the organization and attendance at events that were usually poorly attended when held by each lodge individually. On March 21th, an area-wide Rusty Trowel Degree was held to bring back many brothers who had not been to lodge in some time. The event was very successful. On June 15th, a large area-wide Masonic Information Night for Masons and families was held at the San Jose Temple, chaired by Worshipful Richard I. Kramer. There were over 225 people in attendance, almost every lodge received 1-2 applications as a direct result of the evening. Speakers were Worshipful George Allen of Golden Rule Lodge, Most Worshipful Warren I. Blomseth, Grand Master of California and entertainment was by a comedy juggling duo, Grinn & Barrett.
The annual Lodge Widows Night was held on May 23rd as a Barbeque with 80 people in attendance. After dinner, all were entertained by the Castillero Middle School Show Choir.
The annual Lodge Picnic was held on June 25th at Vasona Park with 100 people in attendance. Fun was had by all, including an Ancient & Modern Duelling demonstration, a Lodge softball game.
Three Masonic Education sessions were held during the year, one for each degree, for the Coaches, Candidates and members. The First Degree was presented by Worshipful George Allen, the Second Degree by Jerry Bradley, Head Officer's Coach, and the Third Degree by Worshipful Ralph Simmons.
Brother William Teuteberg was presented with the coveted Hiram Award after a dinner held on August 22nd, for his incredible service to Golden Rule Lodge and to Masonry in general.
Keeping with tradition, our annual pilgrimage to Columbia, California, was held on September 9-11 with 55 guests present. Friday night dinner was held at Kelly's Kitchen. Brother Grant Idle was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason by Worshipful Richard Kramer at 10 a.m. Saturday morning. On Saturday night a banquet was held in honor of Brother Idle and his wife, Michelle, and Worshipful Fred Shirey, who was presented with his 25 Year Pin after dinner, having been raised 25 years before at Columbia!
Our Lodge Constitutional Observance was held on Monday, September 12th, at our Stated Meeting, between dinner and the meeting. A wonderful unique presentation was made by Mr. Ron Smith, U.S. History teacher at Castillero Middle School, in a period costume, where we all learned many things we never knew about the Constitution.
Past Masters Night was held on October 17th, where the Past Masters were honored at a roast beef dinner, after which, Seth Kramer, son of the Worshipful Master, presented a beautiful oak memorial plaque on an easel, honoring the Installed Past Masters of Golden Rule Lodge. This plaque was made by Seth as part of an Eagle Project for Boy Scouts, with the help of Brothers Ron Crawford and Tony Hamburger. The Past Masters proceeded to raise Brother Kelton Crawford, son of Ron Crawford, that night.
At the November Stated Meeting on November 7th, Brother William Winter, , III was elected to become the Master of Golden Rule Lodge for the 1995 Masonic Year, after which everyone enjoyed the annual oyster feed.
During the year 12 brothers were presented with 50-year Awards and 8 brothers received 25-year pins.
At the beginning of 1994 there were 473 members. At year end there were about 460 members of the Lodge.

Head Officers Coach was Arthur A. Pasquinelli, P.M., Head Candidate's Coach was Gerald E. Bradley, Inspector of the 173rd Masonic District was A. Glenn MacHride, P.M. Trustees were Marcel Diner, P.M., Morris N. Garrett, James E. Mackey.
