Open installation January 17, 1983 with Past Master Fred Shirey officiating as installing Officer, Past Master Bob Whitlach as Chaplain and Past Master Donald R. Kidder as Master of Ceremonies. Past Master Donald Cross was the Host. Twenty- eight Past Masters were present at the installation. During the year we initiated 12 First Degree candidates, Passed 10 Second Degree candidates and Raised 10 Third Degree candidates, with 5 affiliations. We performed 4 First Degrees for the Brethren at the Masonic Home in Union City on July 30, 1983. There were 6 members of Golden Rule Lodge that received their 25 year pins. We had our annual trip to Columbia where Brother George McCarthy was Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. Brother Holllngshead was Raised on October 17, 1983 on Past Masters N ight. The highlight of my year was Initiating, Passing, and Raising both of my sons, Howard I. Coffman, Jr. and Curtis Lee Coffman. James Leggate in his third year as Secretary of Golden Rule Lodge was especially helpful throughout the year. December 5, 1983 James Rankin was elected Master for the year 1984.
