Golden Rule Lodge's 60th year honors Donald Gale Cross, who was installed Master on 12-28-79 by Wor. Bro. Geo Dolfin & Wor. Bro. Donald Kidder served as Master of Ceremonies. The Past Grand Chaplain Phil Barrett was Installing Chaplain. 1980 was a very good year for Golden Rule Lodge and Bro. Cross with 42 degrees being confered, 14 of which were Master Mason, another 10 members were added by affiliation, plus 2 brothers restored to membership for again total of 26 members.

Now -620 members strong a net gain of II members. Golden Rule Lodge had 44 meetings in 1980 including 3 Saturdays, one of which was in Columbia in May. 1980 when Bro. Cross rai~ed his son-in-Iaw Bro. Thomas Anderson to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. 1980 also presented five 50 year pins and nineteen 25 year pins. 1980 Golden Rule Lodge had Alma Coleman, widow of Worshipful Clyde Coleman admitted to Masonic Home. Bro. Cross and his wife Pat presented to Golden Rule Lodge the lights in the east, west and south on Past Masters Night Sept. 15, and dedicated to all its P.M. and 50 year members.

1980 under the supervision of Bro. Cross the 4th Lodge Room on the second floor was constructed by Bro. Cross and a number of Golden Rule members and donated to the Temple Association.

Bro. Cross's most rewarding achievement in 1980, was appontment of Bro. James Leggate as Secretary to replace Worshipful James Hillis, Secretary of Golden Rule Lodge. Other donations and contributions made and year of donation: 1975 -Cross donated materials for alter & officer podiums in east, west, south, and north.

1977 -Cross donated labor and material for paneling in east, west, south and north of Gold Room.

1978 -Cross donated labor and material for double door security in the East of all three Lodge Rooms, the Temple Association issued $3000.00 worth of Temple stock to Golden Rule for this donation.

1979 -Cross donated labor for storage room in the Red Dining Room and painted the walls in dining room and lobby of Temple.

Dec. 1, 1980- Golden Rule elected Worshipful Frank Olds, Master, which in Worshipful Don Cross's opinion was the greatest Senior Warden a Master ever had. Bro. Olds was installed on January 19, 1981. It is my hope that the donations that I have made to Golden Rule Lodge will in some wa y repa y the brethren for the honor they bestowed on me when they elected me Master.
