Open installation was held on Jan. 16 with Past Master Edwin C. Van de Mark as Installing Officer; Past Master Jess W. Lile as Master of Ceremonies, and Bro. Benjamin H. Farrin as Installing Chaplain. At the May I stated meeting a report was received concerning a meeting held in conjunction with other members of the San Jose Masonic Hall Association to discuss the possibility that we may be forced to vacate our present location. Various alternatives were discussed, including a plan to join with the Scottish Rite Bodies in the building of a new Masonic complex. This was a preliminary meeting, and it was anticipated that there would be several more in the near future. Trip to Columbia was made on May 13. New officers' aprons were authorized on June 15. After many years in the red, we finally had a surplus in our Blood Bank account on Nov. 6 (3 pints). Also on this date the lodge adopted a resolution approving the dissolution of the San Jose Masonic Hall Association and the re-incorporation of the group as the San Jose Masonic Temple Association, a non-profit corporation. During the year discussions were continued with Scottish Rite Bodies concerning new temple facilities. Dec. 4, Harry E. Carlsen was elected Master for 1968. 54 degrees conferred; membership, 711.
