Past Masters: A Closer Look

1955-FRANK HARPER MOELLER

One of the most unusual events in the year 1955 year of Worshipful Master Frank Harper Moeller, installed Jan. 10, by the lodge's Griffel-Roy team, was a special examination night March 31 when three Entered Apprentices, ten Fellowcrafts, and five Master Masons were tested for their efficiency. At the April stated meeting, Bro. Omar K. Margason displayed a miniature ship he had built to be presented to Columbia Temple in May. The ship, together with a case made by Bro. Ben Montgomery , and an apron box made by Bro. William Rickard, were presented May 14 during the course of our annual visit. It was voted at our May stated meeting to present 25-year lapel emblems to qualified members of our lodge. In October it was decided to present trowels to candidates on receiving the Third Degree. Bro. Edwin C. Van de Mark was elected to serve as Master in 1956 at the Dec. 5 stated meeting. Sixty-nine degrees were conferred during the year; membership, 668.
