It was under his general direction as 1954 Master that Golden Rule Lodge on May 15 made its first annual pilgrimage to Columbia, California, and conferred the Third Degree on Bro. Sydney Heagarty in the restored Masonic Temple there. This annual event has continued to the present time. Past Masters Charles Griffel and Harvey Roy teamed as Installing Officer and Master of Ceremonies at Bro. Bartholomew's installation Jan. 11. His successor, Bro. Frank H. Moeller, was elected Master Dec. 6 for 1955. The year 1954 saw 70 degrees conferred to bring the membership to 650.
