CONTINUED... for
providing the Stated/Family Night Dinner for the members and
guests. It was a delicious and tasty meal which made the
brethren and guests coming back for seconds. In addition, Bro.
Tom Reoch, PM deserves a round of applause for providing a
Scottish meal for May 2004, Stated / Family Night Dinner. The
Scottish meal was very delicious. The meal was cleverly
disguised to look like that of pancit (Filipino noodle
delicacy), the “haggis” was specially prepared to look like
chicken adobo and lastly the potatoes were meticulously shaped
into tiny morsels of fried rice. <grin> Seriously, on behalf
of the officers, family and guest, thank you for the meal. We
would like to let you know, it is appreciated and comes from
the bottom of my heart and likewise from the brethren and
guests.
Thursday, April 8 we had a
successful annual Public School/ Science Fair event at
Torrance High School. It was attended by 550 plus students and
families from the schools throughout the Torrance Unified
School District. The Mayor of Torrance, Torrance Unified
School Board Members and City officials including the local TV
station were in attendance to witness the event. To shed
history on this event, it originated in the lodge dining room
hall way back when the lodge initiated a small community
outreach back in the early days. Torrance University Lodge and
Sunnyside Lodge were given a Proclamation by the Mayor of
Torrance in recognition for our dedicated support of Public
Schools and declared April 2004 as Public School’s Month. I
would like to thank WBro. Herb Woertler, PM for his leadership
and laying the foundation of coordinating with city officials
and school board members to make the event a success. In
addition, I would like to extend my appreciation to the
officers, brethren and ladies who assisted in setting up and
run the Child ID Program which resulted in taking more
pictures of students than the previous year.
Monday, June 7, 2004, Stated
Meeting/Family Night will be prepared by WBro. Dave Peterson,
PM. Brethren, after the days work, please come in and enjoy a
delicious meal so that you don’t have to cook at home and
enjoy our fellowship.
Fraternally,
Rio L. Santonil
