From The Secretary's Table

Have you considered a Life Membership?  You may purchase a lifetime contract with your lodge and never again pay dues to Torrance University Lodge #394.  Several years ago, the Grand Lodge revised the By-Laws for Masons to pay a graduated fee for a Life Membership.  To be eligible to become a life member, your dues must be current.  The Lodge’s annual dues are currently $50.00 per year.  If you desire a life membership, the following schedule can assist you in calculating your life membership fee:

Age Schedule                              Dues                                       Fee

Age 49 or under                    21 x $50.00             =              $1,050.00

50 to 54 inclusive                  19 x $50.00             =              $   950.00

55 to 59 inclusive                  17 x $50.00             =              $   850.00

60 to 64 inclusive                  14 x $50.00             =              $   700.00

65 and over                            11 x $50.00             =              $   550.00

The Lodge will issue a Certificate of Life Membership upon payment of the appropriate sum from the schedule by any current member, thereby forever exempting a member from payment of dues in the future.  When dues are increased by a vote of the members of the Lodge, you are assured that you will not have to pay any dues increase.

All paid Life Membership are deposited in investments approved by Grand Lodge and only the interest from that account can be used by the Lodge.  The original amounts invested cannot be touched, they are kept in the fund forever.

Please contact me if you have any questions on this or any other item concerning Masonry.  I will answer it or will have it answered by someone who has the knowledge to answer it.

If you know of a Brother who is missing, ill or not in the best of health, please call the office and I will pass it on to the Master and Officers for further action.

Fraternally,
Thomas B. Reoch, PM
Secretary
