FROM THE WEST
February 2006

To the brethren and their special ladies:

The Worshipful Master has asked me to discuss some of our upcoming events this year and what a calendar we have!

First up, is our annual Sweethearts Dinner at our Stated Meeting on February 2nd. We will be dining on a slow roasted brisket or for those non-beef eaters, a spinach stuffed chicken breast. Dessert will be a cherry cobbler w/ vanilla ice cream. Please ensure that you make a reservation, otherwise you may miss out on this great feast!

Following the Stated Meeting on Saturday February 12th is our first annual Masonic Paintball Shootout! The event will begin at 1pm at California Paintball Park in Castaic, California. An entry fee of $30 will get you admission, 500 paintballs, a semi-auto paintball marker, protective mask and goggles and 3 hours of all the paint mayhem you can take. Following the shootout, we will be dining at the Route 66 Diner in Canyon Country. So if you don’t want to get painted or don’t want to witness the carnage, feel free to join us at the restaurant shortly after 4pm. For further information, please contact Troy Wells at (661) 715-5583 or send him an email at bryteone@yahoo.com.

Of course, our calendar wouldn’t be complete without mentioning our mostly monthly movie night on February 26th at the Winnetka Theater. The main attraction will be Steve Martin’s new film, the Pink Panther starting at 3:30 or 4p. However, keep in mind other movies are playing as well. Some notables are Harrison Ford’s Firewall, a remake of Curious George, Final Destination 3 (for those horror fans), and Ultraviolet an interesting look at vampires in the late 21st century, starring Milla Jovovich. Dinner will follow at Two Guys From Italy in Chatsworth at 6:30p. Please feel free to contact Rudy Bauer for more details at (818) 363-5727.

That my friends wraps up the month of February. March will have our annual bowling night on March 12th and March 16th will be our first Masonic Information Night of the year, so bring your curious friends and family!

Have a great month and see you at the next Stated Meeting!

Cheers,
