Thank you to everyone for making the past weeks fun and successful. Between Constitutional Observance Night, Mini-Golf, Movie Nights and the Magic Castle, our membership has enjoyed the benefit of the hard work of our Social Chairmen.
This month, I want to discuss the results of Grand Lodge and the pending Letter of Restoration of one of our suspended members. As many of you know, the Grand Master expelled one of our members from the Craft due to a conviction several years past. In response to the expulsion, our Lodge voted to request from Grand Lodge, his re-instatement into Masonry. Unfortunately, our request was denied on the grounds that the request did not seek a resolution of the CMC which would have allowed for his re-instatement.
Legalities aside, I have been assured by Past Grand Master Steven Doan that he would be more than willing to help our Lodge write such a resolution in time for next year's annual communication. Additionally, several members from other Lodges have come forward and said they would be willing to assist in this process. Although the situation is unchanged, there is still one more avenue to explore. I would ask that each of you wait a time with patience and let the system take its course.
Finally, congratulations to Worshipful Brother Bill Bray who was installed as Junior Grand Warden, and a tip of the hat to Worshipful Brother Ralph Dash who has ended his term as Grand Orator. We should all be proud that Hollywood Lodge is fortunate enough to have these two brothers as members and thank them for their leadership in California Masonry.
Fraternally,
James Bayhylle
Master
