FROM THE EAST
July 2007

Brethren,

This being the month of July, I would like to thank everyone involved in the various June social events, and especially thank the Bauers, the Schumans, the Romeys, and the Fishkins for offering their homes for the Progressive Dinner.

I would also like to thank Bro. Steve Mahr and the Lodge Restoration Committee for successfully securing a space for the Masonic Education Center. At the May Temple Board Meeting, Bro. Steve presented the proposal we voted on at the May Stated Meeting to allocate the space adjacent to the social hall for the use of the MEC. The Temple Board approved phase one of the plan and generously contributed funds toward the remodeling of the space. For anyone who wishes to contribute to the Masonic Education Center project, please contact Bro. Steve Mahr.

I would like to comment on the ongoing saga concerning our ballot box. I am pleased to announce that at the June Stated Meeting we successfully voted in three new brothers. The meeting was contentious but it appears reason prevailed. I look forward to seeing these men receive their degrees here at Hollywood Lodge. The brethren also unanimously voted to request a despensation from Grand Lodge to ballot on the applications of Mr. Curtis Anthony Gole and Mr. Stanislav Tolensikov. We will re-ballot on these applications on July 5th, the date of our July Stated Meeting.

As a reminder, we will continue to enforce the requirement of dues cards of our Members at all our Stated Meetings. Again, if you have not received your dues card, please let me know.

I look forward to seeing you all in July.

Fraternally,

James Bayhylle
