Brethren:

Last month I talked about community. I asked for some suggestions on what we can do as a lodge to bring some awareness to us from outside the Masonic community. This year we will be having a blood drive. This is a great chance to get a little public support for a great cause.

The blood drive will be April 15th at the lodge. We will be working with a premier hospital, Cedars Sinai, who will be taking reservation times so there will be a continuous flow of people and blood. They even pass out small gifts as a thank you for participation in the program. If you would like to assist Bro. Klein in recruiting for this wonderful event, I am sure that he would appreciate it.

Another event is going to be the Masonic Forum. This is going to be a continuation of the lecture series that we have previously enjoyed. For our first speaker, Margaret Jacobs, we had close to 100 attendees followed by John Slifko by even more.

Many people came from the local community as well as our membership. These lectures are fun and informative. They may help someone answer questions about our craft as well as teach us something about it as well, thereby furthering our own personal Masonic education.

Finally, don't forget about the trip we are taking back to our roots. We will be visiting the old Hollywood Lodge building when we take a trip to The Jimmy Kimmel Show.

All of our events are a chance for us to leave a positive impression on the people in our community. Next month I will give a few ideas of how we can "pass it on" to the community, letting everyone know who we are and what we do!

Fraternally,

Aaron Shubb
