FROM THE SOUTH
December 2007

Good Day Brethren and Ladies,

Again I take pleasure in writing to you from the South. This time however, I have the additional pleasure of looking well to the West as you have so graciously voted me in as your Senior Warden. I assure you I will do everything within my power to help David and our Lodge in general, create and mold a terrific year filled with brotherly love and affection.

Unfortunately I was not able to write to you in October so I will take a moment to fill you in on what happened as it was an exciting month. We were honored with the privilege of attending the Magic Castle. Food, drinks, magic, and a good time were had by all. I would like to thank our Worshipful Master, James Bayhylle for getting in contact with his uncle and arranging for the invitation.

Additionally, Worshipful Chris Holme, our District Inspector, and his lovely wife Heather were blessed with their first child. Reagan Drew Holme was born on October 16th. Congratulations again Heather and Chris!

While I have the soapbox, and a captive audience, I will fill you in on my life for just a moment. I have been working hard these past few months. I've been fortunate to have a couple of jobs in a row, which is exciting. But more importantly, I have decided to participate in the "AIDS Life Cycle Ride" which takes place from June 1st through the 7th. It's a 7-day, 545 mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise awareness for, as well as make a world of difference in, the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS. Proceeds go to the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. There is a lot of training involved, and while it's incredibly rewarding, it's a tremendous amount of work. If anyone is interested in following my progress or sending me a message, feel free to check out my web page http://aidslifecycle.org/5145.

Thank you all for your time. And, as we enter into the dark half of the year, let's all of us remember, to let the bright light of Masonry illuminate our way.

Fraternally,

Russell Jaeger
Senior Warden, elect
