FROM THE WEST

January 2009

Happy New Year my Brethren!

I am sure that by this time I am not going to be the first one who has said this and I hope that I am not the last to wish it to you this year. With all of the officers in place, it is time we roll up our sleeves and get to work once again serving our Lodge.

I would like to congratulate Brothers Vince Winters and Mark Thie for a fantastic Second Degree proficiency given at the December Stated Meeting. The full form proficiencies were crisp, their essays were very insightful, and the Candidates Coaches and Master have approved them for advancement. We look forward to attending their Third Degree ceremonies in the near future. I would also like to mention Brother Aaron Cohen as well who served as the Candidates Coach for the proficiency. Thank you, Brother Aaron.

Next month is our annual Sweethearts Stated dinner. Please bring your wives so they may rest and enjoy a relaxing evening without having to do any work. Remember where most of us would be without our ladies to support us.

It seems that a good part of my year is to be spent learning and planning for next year. As such, I would like to invite commentary from anyone who cares to provide me with advice for the year to come even though we are just starting this New Year.

Please remember to call your dinner reservations to our New Junior Warden Brother Steve Mahr. The number to contact is on the last page of the Chips under his name.

Fraternally,

Arthur Melendez
Senior Warden
