FROM THE WEST August 2009
What an exciting July we had! Let me congratulate a little late Brother Franclemont on being raised to the 3rd degree in June. In July we had Brothers Ludeke, Stevens and Kubichan scheduled to get raised as well. Due to scheduling matters and the date needed to write this article I am hoping all 3 brothers were available on their dates. If not, I will mention it again next month. We also had a new brother join our ranks and receive his first degree. Please remember coaching is every Tuesday and Thursday so no matter the date, there is something to do for every brother regardless of their degree. Please remember that Entered Apprentices and Fellow Crafts are fully able to join in on Child ID and other Lodge Community Service events. Please see Worshipful Master Russell or myself for something to do if you are interested. I normally only speak of the degrees so I hope the Worshipful Master will indulge me to mention the July 4th Concerts in the Park event. Your Lodge has had a booth for some time and things really clicked at this event! 3 individuals flat out asked to join. I have 4 phone numbers to follow up on and we will have quite a few guests at the stated dinner in August! This was just me alone! Brother Greg had people filling out a form at the other booth. I will be following up with Brother Greg to get info from others that filled out his form for contact as well. Brother Mark Thie was there helping out as well. Brother Johnny Johnson had someone ask him about Masonry and gave his name and number for contact as well! In addition Brother Johnson did ID’s for 198 children! What a machine Brother Johnny is! I met with a lost brother from the old Canoga Lodge and he may be calling to come to a dinner to see how things have changed as well and may consider getting involved in the fraternity again! The Jobies and Brother Brian Godsave’s family were a huge help. Both booths did their respective jobs well. After the event we all joined together and watched a spectacular fireworks show. 6 Jobies, Brian’s family, Mark’s family, Greg’s family and my own family grouped our places together and we carved a nice plot out of the park with a great view of the show! Good times were had, I wish you had been there as well. You can be for the next one! Keep an eye on the trestleboard for the next Lodge event this month! It promises to be exciting!
