FROM THE EAST

April 2009

Good day Brethren and Ladies,

I hope this letter finds you all in good health and good spirits!

As always, I would first like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. You have been turning out in such great numbers for both degrees and events. It truly is an exciting time to be a Mason here at Hollywood Lodge!

Thanks to all of the people who came out to our First Annual Hollywood vs. North Hollywood Bowling Tournament. Fraternal bonding abounded and a good time was had by all. That said, I am sorry to report that North Hollywood won out in the end and claimed the prestigious Golden Bowling Shoe. They edged us out by less than ONE point! What does that mean for us? It means that on Saturday, September 5th we need to regain our superiority (if not our pride) and trounce them at the first ever Hollywood vs. North Hollywood Mini-Golf Tournament! Keep a weather eye on the horizon for more details.

I am looking forward to seeing those of you who signed up to join us for Dim Sum, which is our lodge outing on April 25th.

I am even more excited to be reminding you all that on Thursday, April 16th, at 6:00 PM Hollywood Lodge is playing host to Dr. Margaret Jacob, Distinguished Professor of History, who will present a lecture on “The Historical Paradox of Masonic Secrecy in the 18th Century.” With a special introduction by M.W. Larry Adamson, Grand Master of Masons in California.

Thank you and I hope to see you all very soon.

Best,

Russell M. Jaeger
Master
