The stature of a man is frequently associated with his high position and prestige. As admirable as these traits are, they do not belie his strength of character and nobility of spirit.

By the same token, the eminence of a mason is measured by the scale of his humanity and benevolence to his fellow brothers. His adherence to the tenets of the craft he is dedicated to makes him a worthy steward in his commitment to his community in general and to the lodge he belongs in particular. A true and devoted brother abides by the values of his masonic code.

The Hiram award is the highest accolade given to a brother by the members of his lodge in cooperation with the grand lodge of the state of california as recognition of his outstanding dedication and devotion to the fraternity.

The recipient of such a prestigious honor is most deserving for his display of humility in conduct and integrity of character.

As Master of Metropolitan Lodge No. 352, it is my distinct privilege to announce that Worshiful Ygnacio M. Alva is our next Hiram Awardee. His honesty and integrity sets him apart as an exemplar Mason and an inspiration to us all.

Another worthwhile event our lodge is sponsoring is the Most Worshipful Richard Wakefield Hopper Golf Tournament to be held on June 14, 2008 at the Rio Hondo Golf Club. All golfers fees will go toward the charity of his choice.
