The Master's Welcome Message

I would like to personally thank you for visiting the San Diego Lodge #35 F. & A. M. webpage. Our lodge has over 161 years of Masonic history in the State of California. We are extremely proud of our heritage and our history as one of the oldest and largest lodges in California. Should you desire to visit us, it would be advantageous for you to contact our secretary to confirm our Stated Meeting or Degree dates.

We invite and encourage visitors to our lodge and try to make them feel as welcome in our lodge as they would in their own lodges.

We look forward to meeting you!!

Gary M. Creason, Master

The Master's Strategic Plan For The Year 2012

San Diego Lodge #35, under the leadership and direction of Wor. Randy Brill, Past Master 2009, created a Vision Statement and Strategic Plan by bringing together Past Masters and brother officers. After numerous meetings over a period several months the product that was created at that time still holds true and correct today.

The officers of San Diego Lodge #35 are seen in this jurisdiction and in the State of California as professional leaders of ritual and Masonic conduct. It is our duty as officers of this lodge to continue the leadership, support, mentorship, and brotherly love that has become the cornerstone of our lodge over many years of persistent effort and pledge to our craft.

As the 2012 Master, my strategic plan and goals are:

STRATEGIC PLAN

  • To continue making San Diego Lodge #35 a premiere lodge with a reputation for excellence.
  • To commit ourselves to perpetuating our lodge as a friendly lodge who welcomes our brothers from every walk of life.
  • To focus attention to our younger and newer brothers and their families by providing social and Masonic events.
  • To pledge our assistance to our senior brothers by providing the necessary support whereby they may pursue their labors in comfort and without anguish or concern.
  • To never turn our backs on our brothers, their ladies, and their families.
  • To provide continued support to Dewey Elementary School.

GOALS

  • To follow our historic leadership and exercise those Masonic duties which we are taught to practice within and out of the lodge.
  • To carry on the education of our brothers and to focus our efforts on them and their families.
  • To refocus our efforts to bring about a reformation of a more family oriented atmosphere for our lodge and its membership.
  • To continue our dedication and support of the students at Dewey Elementary School.

What Is Freemasonry?

Who are the masons and what do they do? Masons (also known as Freemasons) belong to the oldest and largest fraternal organization in the world. Today, there are more than two million Masons in North America. Masons represent virtually every occupation and profession, yet within the Fraternity all meet as equals. Masons come from diverse political ideologies, yet meet as friends. Masons come from varied religious beliefs and creeds, yet all believe in one God.

Let's help the kids!!

San Diego Lodge 35 is proud to have adopted Dewey Elementary School as our partner in public education. Dewey Elementary School is a Kindergarten - 4th grade school located in the Point Loma, California area. Approximately 90% of the children attending Dewey have parent(s) who are are in the military serving our country. Many of these kids have needs for school supplies as well as individual personal needs.

Dewey Elementary School is an old school (established in the 1930's) which is in need of equipment, materials and supplies in order to effectively teach the children. Many of the children have special needs which require individual time with special education teachers and require specialized equipment.

How can you help? By donating school supplies such as backpacks, pencils, pens, paper, glue sticks, etc. We have collected so many items from our members and their ladies that it is very hard to describe each item. We will accept donations on a continuous basis and will collect in several different ways:

  1. Collect stamps and coupons off specially marked packages of paper products, cans and boxes of food.
  2. By collecting donated school supplies, such as crayons, paper, backpacks and other items.
  3. By collecting cash which will be used to purchase large equipment for the classrooms and Dewey Elementary School. (At each Stated Meeting there will be Mason jars on the dining tables which we will use to collect cash donations each month. We hope to raise large amounts in order to purchase from specific requests from the principal and teachers from Dewey Elementary.

Please help San Diego Lodge #35 F. & A. M. support our selected school by digging deep and donating supplies and cash for this very worthwhile project!

Sincerely & Fraternally

Gary M. Creason, Master
