Mark W. Doubleday, Worshipful Master 2010

The Master's Strategic Plan For The Year 2010

San Diego Lodge No. 35’s Vision Statement and Strategic Plan was a concerted effort brought to fruition by the leadership of several Past Masters and brother officers. It was an effort of several meetings over several months and has yielded much fruit. San Diego Lodge No. 35 recently was honored for having raised the most Master Masons during fiscal 2008-2009, under the leadership of Pat Wohlrabe, PM and Randy Brill, PM. Mark W. Doubleday, the current master, bears testament to this effort. The combined efforts of many dedicated brothers and officers had a tremendous impact on our Lodge in the last year. It is our duty to continue in mentoring and nurturing all our brothers, old and new.

VISION: To continue in making San Diego Lodge No. 35 the “Teaching Lodge”. To further our commitment to make San Diego Lodge No. 35 a friendly and welcoming Lodge, to never turn our backs on our brothers, their ladies and their families and to further our commitment to our obligations by providing support to those in need.

GOAL: To follow in the steps of those leaders who have gone before us and make San Diego Lodge No. 35 a Lodge that practices out of the Lodge those ideals which are taught in it. To continue in teaching and educating our fellows and to refocus our efforts on supporting our Honored Ladies and our brothers and their families during this challenging time.

Lodge News

The annual dinner was held on Friday, January 15, 2010. The recognition of Randy R. Brill, who served as Worshipful Master of San Diego Lodge No. 35 during the year 2009, was the main focus of the evening. After an exquisite dinner, Worshipful Master Mark W. Doubleday gave a heartfelt speech in honor of Worshipful Brill, who shortly thereafter received his Past Master's apron on behalf of his fellow masons. Following Worshipful Brill's very own words of gratitude, a magician performed a variety of tricks for all those present. The performance was of special significance to Worshipful Brill, as he has been a lifelong fan and aficionado of magic himself.

What Is Freemasonry?

Who are the masons and what do they do? Masons (also known as Freemasons) belong to the oldest and largest fraternal organization in the world. Today, there are more than two million Masons in North America. Masons represent virtually every occupation and profession, yet within the Fraternity all meet as equals. Masons come from diverse political ideologies, yet meet as friends. Masons come from varied religious beliefs and creeds, yet all believe in one God.
