We’re now in the thick of things with a full Summer calendar! There’s literally something for everyone – and we hope that you are making plans to enjoy the value of the activities that your membership in YOUR Lodge offers you and your family.

If you haven’t been to one of our social events in some time, I urge you to come and see the fun you’ve been missing. This summer, you will notice that a number of are events are free of charge. But more than that, it means a great deal to the other members to see you if you haven’t been to the Lodge in a while. And besides, you get to renew YOUR friendships, which is part of what Masonry is all about! When you come out to any of the Lodge events, you will also get to see the quality and caliber of men who are interested in Masonry and who are applying to our Lodge for membership. And in case you didn’t know, we‘ve got great food at virtually every gathering!

Our Friday Fun Nights are very popular! Besides enjoying the fun for yourself, it’s a great way to expose people to Masonry in a relaxed manner…and we have many non-Masons who are attending to discover the type of people who are Masons. On these evenings we serve food and beverages in our game room, The Goose & Gridiron. It’s a pub-like atmosphere that is open to adult men and women. A great place to relax, play darts, shoot pool, watch TV, or nibble on the chocolate cake. And if you’ve ever seen the sitcom, Cheers!, well…it’s sort of like that.

Our Community Outreach Program is already showing the foundation of success! As of press time, we were again trying to obtain space at the Taste in San Pedro in August to operate a booth offering our Child ID Program, a vital service to our community. It’s a great way to introduce our community to Masonry! Stop by to see us between the visits to the food booths and listening to the bands.

With our commitment to providing greater membership value to you and your family, we hope that you will make plans to join us for our Lodge Family Picnic at the end of August. We’ve got a number of activities planned for children of all ages…whether you’re 9 or 99 years young. The Lodge will be providing the hamburgers, hot dogs and sodas. Bring a side dish to share. And don’t forget to bring your friends, neighbors, kids and grandkids. There will be plenty of laughter to go around!

As you can see, we are fulfilling our theme for this year – Making Masonry Relevant for the 21st Century: Man, Family, Community. We hope that you’ll come to support your Lodge as we continue to move forward in our successes.

We look forward to seeing you at Lodge often.

As we say in Africa, “Karibu ujamaa!”
