Work Parties

Brotherly Love, Relief , and Truth are the principle tenents of Freemasonry.

We have three painting projects that need to be finished.
  1. Finish applying 100 gal. of paint on the roof.
  2. Apply another coat of paint on the lobby ceiling, and
  3. Finish painting the trim in the Lobby and Women’s bathroom.

Since many of you stated that you could help the weekend of September 19, I have scheduled a work party for then, at 8:30 AM. The roof is our number one project so if more help is present then we can use on the roof, some can work in the lobby. Please let me know if you can help. Also, be a "friend to a friend" and invite them along to help. For the roof and lobby ceiling, we have all the equipment. For the trim painting, bring your favorite sash brush.

Painting the roof is a maintenance item that must be done periodiclly and has not been done since 1993. It is now long overdue and to put it off would ultimately necessitate buying a new roof—not something that we want to do.  This will only require about 4 people and should not take all day. It is hot, back breaking work and I do not suggest that ladies volunteer to help on this one. A day or so before, I will wash the roof so it will be ready for us.

There is a great deal of work that needs to be done around our Fraternal home and to keep things affordable, must be done by volunteers. As examples, in recent history a drainage line was installed under the parking lot that extends from our property line to the storm drain, half of the building’s siding was replaced, the exterior was painted, and last week, serious progress was made in painting the lobby.

What remains to be done in the near future are: complete painting the lobby, build a new Past Masters’ gallery, paint the dining hall, paint the roof and install drainage lines and re-landscape on the South side of the building.

Please let me know if you can help and will be there: call 462-0366 or e-mail.
