SILVER GATE THREE-STARS LODGE NO. 296
The Hiram Award is presented to a Master Mason who has unselfishly served both his Lodge and the Masonic Fraternity with devotion far exceeding what is considered to be ordinary. Aside from being selected to serve as Master of the Lodge, the Hiram Award is the highest honor that can be bestowed on a member.
The award consists of a certificate and a gold medallion suspeded by a blue ribbon that is worn around the neck. The obverse of the medallion has the Square and Compass with the letter G encircled by wreat of laurel. Circumscribed around the medallion are the phrases "Hiram Award" and "Dedicated Service." The reverse of the medallion has the seal of The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of California.
Each lodge is permitted, but not required, to award one Hiram Award per year. The selection process varies from lodge to lodge.
