MASTER¡¯S MESSAGE

Brethren:

The Masonic Service Bureau¡¯s Annual Breakfast honoring the Grand Master on April 13, 2008, was very successful. There were some 584 Masons in attendance. This is the largest gathering of Masons second only to the Grand Lodge Communication

Our Public Schools Luncheon on April 17th was also very successful. Grand Master Richard Wakefield Hopper and his wife Judy were in attendance. Most Worshipful Hopper gave an excellent talk to the attendees. I¡¯m sure the Temple City High Twelve Public Schools Recognition Program will go  very well also.

The month of May is loaded with Third Degree practices and not much else. We need lots of work before May 22nd and May 29.  On May 22nd we will be raising Brother Kevin Wong to the sublime degree of Master Mason and on May 29th, Arcadia Lodge will be hosting the Officer¡¯s School of Instruction and doing the Second Section of the Third Degree,

I want to thank the Past Masters and members who have stepped up to the plate to assist in the coaching and taking part in the degree work.

Now, on a more serious issue. Our Lodge probably seems in great shape at our Stated Meeting dinners. The truth is we need dedicated Brothers to become officers or we won¡¯t survive more than two years ¨C if that. Using recycled Past Masters is not solving the problem. We need fresh blood to step up and lead this Lodge. Yes, being an officer takes a lot of time and dedication, but, if this Lodge is to keep growing and moving into the future, we need your fresh ideas and willingness to help. I am weary and worn out ¨C PLEASE STEP UP AND HELP !

Fraternally,

Jim Humble

Worshipful Master
