MASTER¡¯S MESSAGE

Brethren:

Here it is June already and, at the time I am writing this message, it feels like the middle of August. Temperatures are in the high 90¡¯s and 100¡¯s.

This is going to be another busy month for the officers. On June 12th, we will be conferring the First Degree on two candidates. Then on June 26th, we will be conferring the Second Degree on two of our Brothers.  So, be sure to come to the degrees and support our candidates and our officers. There will be a lodge Barbecue on August 16th at the home of Ken and Kathie Hottinger in Temple City. More details later.

Hope to see you at the Stated Meeting and at the conferring of the degrees.

Fraternally

Jim Humble

Worshipful Master

Random Thoughts

¡°But Masonry¡¯s motto is not ¡®we help men do good things,¡¯ it is ¡®we take good men and make them better.¡¯ It is ritual which does that, the ritual which literally provides the initiate ¡®the beginning¡¯ of a new life with a strengthened set of values and purposes. Ritual is the oldest teaching method known to man. Over time mankind has developed better ways to teach information and data, but no one has ever developed a better method of teaching attitude and values.

It is perfectly true that the ritual is not the destination of the Masonic journey. Masonry exists to build good men, and not ritualists

All one needs to know about Masonry is the ritual and lectures. If that is the case, why do members leave after the Third Degree ?
