Bike Program
Oakdale Masonic Lodge Public Schools Bike Program
We have been supplying bikes to the local schools for 5 years. It has been an extremely successful program that has been well received by the School Administration, the Students and the Community. The bikes that we provide are intended to help increase school attendance. The bikes are given away at general assemblies to those students who have achieved perfect attendance during the last semester. Their names are placed in a hat and drawn and the winning student receives a new bike and helmet.
Through the generosity of the members of Oakdale Lodge #275 and the local K Mart we have given away 45 bikes since this program started.
The pictures above show the bikes that were presented to the schools at the beginning of the 2004-2005 school year. The Public Schools Chairmen Dave Daley P.M. and Triangle DeMolay members Sean Daley and Tyler Daley presented them to the schools.
A member of the Oakdale Lodge presents the bikes at the general assemblies with a certificate for the winner. There is usually an accompanying photo that is printed in the Oakdale Leader of the winner and his new bike.
This has been a great public relations opportunity for our Lodge as well as a chance to have an on going presence with our local public schools.
Donations can be made to the Oakdale Masonic Lodge # 275 Bike Program.
