Masters Message from the East

January 2009

Greetings Brethren;

I hope the Holidays were good for you, we're starting a new year, with a new Master, my name is Robert Myers, I've lived in Tulare almost all of my life, many of you knew my folks, Loman and Maxine Myers, and many of you know my Aunt Bee, Bernice Carns. They owned and operated Monty's Drive inn for 35 years. My Dad belonged to Olive Branch Lodge # 269, and coached many of his friends as they became masons. It was his wish that I would someday be raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason, and it finally happened in 2003. I never imagined that I would ever become the Master. But once I got involved, it just seemed natural, to progress through the different Stations. As I watched with admiration the elder Brethren doing there work, I just felt compelled to see if I could do it, and as I learned it, I loved it. And now I can proudly say that I am a 32 Degree Mason. Well enough about me.

My brothers, we have been doing a lot of work, both in and out of the Lodge Building inside we've been repairing and replacing, and repainting. Outside we're doing Children I.D. both in town and out of town. We're doing anything we can think of to let people know who we are, and that we're here to help the Community. And it's beginning to look like we're heading in the right direction.

We need members!!! Father time is about to do us in! If you know a good man that would make a good Mason, give him a little push, you can't invite him but you can encourage him. If you are a member of this Lodge, participate, please! We would love to see you here, don't worry about the stairs, we have an elevator, I know that we have members that could be coming, but are not. Brethren, your Lodge needs you, we need sideliners, and we will need Officers next year, this is getting very serious, so I say again, Participate!!!

Sir Knights:

As the year 2008 came and went we welcome the New Year 2009, I greet all Sir Knights a Prosperous New Year and very optimistic that the coming new year will bring better luck for our Commandery with the merging of the Visalia Outpost.

I urge our brother Sir Knights to come forward and fill up our officer corps to full capacity.
