Welcome to Placerville Lodge 26!
Please take a few minutes to browse our site, learn more about Freemasonry, and explore the history and activities of one of the oldest and most distinguished lodges in California. Founded in 1852, Placerville 26 (the 26th Masonic lodge established in California) has served our community since the Gold Rush providing an avenue for self-improvement, camaraderie, social networking, and philanthropy few organizations can match. Membership is open to men of all ages, ethnicities, and religious beliefs and their families are welcomed with open arms and encouraged to participate in the many events we sponsor or support during the year.
In El Dorado County and throughout the world, Masonry is experiencing a true renaissance. In an increasingly busy and over-scheduled world where we seem to be pulled in a dozen different directions at once, many feel there is something missing in their lives. Masonry can provide a sense of community, a moral foundation, a charitable philosophy, and a venue for friendship within the context of the world's oldest and largest fraternity. Contrary to what you might have heard, Masonry is not a religion, it's not a cult, and in the internet age we really don't have a lot of secrets. We come from all walks of life; whether wealthy or humble, a retiree or a college student, a Catholic or a Muslim, Masonry provides an all-too-rare opportunity to meet "on the level."
