The Masons of King David’s Lodge are inspired by the courage & wisdom of Brothers George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and many other Freemasons who lived in the Age of Enlightenment

and led our nation’s struggle for independence.

We share common values with those visionaries,

and with the inspiring men who founded San Luis Obispo

values based on the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man.

Do you share our values? To become a Mason, a man starts by simply asking and getting to know us. We're a friendly, welcoming group!

(There are a few other requirements see “How to Become a Mason,” this website. There are also opportunities for women & young people to join the Masonic family - call (805) 234-1731 to find out how!)

MISSION & VISION STATEMENTS FOR OUR LODGE

MISSION: KING DAVID’S LODGE EXISTS TO REFINE GOOD MEN INTO EVEN BETTER MEN, by a unique experience of initiation to the mysteries of Freemasonry, in much the same manner that George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and a host of other inspiring leaders have been enlightened.

VISION: King David’s continues to stand as it has for over a century: a venerable lighthouse illuminating the Door of Freemasonry for people of goodwill within San Luis Obispo – people who may choose to become one of us,

once they see that the door is close at hand.

We will continue to be inspired by the Wisdom of our ancient brethren who were among the luminaries of American independence, and we will be inspired as well by the brethren of our own Lodge since its founding in 1870. We will honor their memory by exemplary ritual in our ceremonies, by being attentive to the widows of our departed brethren, and by promoting an increase in our youth orders.

We will rejuvenate the Strength of fellowship through discussion groups and sharing in a relaxed atmosphere, which will become commonplace this year so that harmonious fellowship is enhanced – harmony being the strength and support of all societies, especially of ours.

We will display the Beauty of Freemasonry to everyone in our local community, by practicing philanthropy focused on the most vulnerable among us. While recognition is never our primary goal, we will seek every opportunity to make it known that Masons are active in San Luis Obispo, so that our light is seen as emanating from a refuge for those who share our values – values based on the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man.
