Greetings and Happy Easter:
On Friday March 9, 2012 we had a corned beef
and cabbage dinner cooked by Brother Don Auradou. We had thirty-four in attendance and raised
one hundred and thirty-four dollars for the Santa Rosa Scottish Rite Children’s
Language and Learning Center. Thank you
Brother Don and your wonderful wife Darlene, for preparing this outstanding dinner!!!!
On Thursday, March 15th we presented Brother Don Culp a
Golden Veteran Award for fifty years of Masonry. Brother Don was Initiated an Entered
Apprentice Mason on January 18, 1962; Passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft on
February 15, 1962; and Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on March
29, 1962 at San Leandro Lodge #113. The
presentation took place at Meadowood Nursing home, 3805 Dexter Avenue,
Clearlake, where Brother Don is recovering from a stroke, If you have time,
please stop by and say hello and congratulate Brother Don on 50 years in
Masonry.
Thank you to Brother Richard George who has
offered to replace Brother Gary as Treasurer.
With Brother Richard moving to Treasurer we are now looking for his
replacement at Senior Steward. If anyone
is willing to assume this position, please contact me.
I have been informed by Brother Richard
Gorman PM, because of family commitments and living most of the time in
Sacramento he will have to cut back on his involvement with our Lodge. Brother Dick still plans to stop by when he
is in the area and attend functions when possible. However, we will be seeing him much less
often. I would like to take this time to
thank Brother Gorman for all the time he has given to our Lodge and to Free
Masonry. Brother Dick came into our
Lodge on June 6, 2001 and since that time has been very, very active in the
Lodge. Brother Dick started in the
Officers Line in 2002 and served as Master in 2006 and again in 2008. THANK
YOU, Brother Dick you will truly be missed.
I am pleased to report that two more Golden
Veterans’ Awards for fifty years in Masonry will be presented at the April
Stated Meeting to Brother Don Ellis and Brother Mike Salter. Please mark your calendar and plan on having
dinner with these two brothers and attending their award ceremony. Remember the ceremony is open to
everyone. I hope to see you there.
Lastly, CONGRATULATONS to Bother Dan Fish who
makes this publication possible. The
OUTSTANDING quality of work apparently has caught the eye of the Grand Lodge
and several compliments were delivered to our Inspector Dave Jones PM. Thank you Brother Dan!!
Fraternally Yours in Masonry
John Flynn PM,
Master
