From The West NOVEMBER 2000 November is the time for election of officers for the ensuing Masonic Year. It is also the Stated Meeting at which the ballots for conslidation will be tallied. As I look to the sun rising in the East, I am filled with anticipation for the new year. We had a nice turnout from Eel River Lodge #147, Humboldt #79 and Arcata #106, who filled in the vacancies left by our own Lodge Brothers. With as few candidates as we have had applying for the Degrees this last year, it is important to come out and support the new Lodge Brothers who have the courage and commitment to take the next step in Masonry. I even met a member who I had never seen in my five years in the Lodge. The Secretary tells me that we have about 160 members yet I have met no more than 30. Would each of you please take the time to visit us at one Stated Meeting this year? Just one, that's all I ask. It would be nice to meet you and introduce you to our newest members.
